Here at New Hampton Veterinary Clinic, we are proud to offer several options for flea & tick prevention to our patients.

Fleas can be a horrible and frustrating problem. Not only do they infest your pets, but they also live in many dark spaces in your home. They like dark and warm places. Theu can be found in carpet, beddings, and many other spots. If you have fleas in your home, they are not easy to get rid of.

Fleas cause your pets to be itchy. They may dig themselves raw until their skin gets infected. The worst part about the fleas is mam pets are allergic to them, resulting in severe dermatitis and skin infections. Even one or two fleas will drive these pets crazy.

Ticks are a problem in our area. They feed off the blood of your pets. This is often not enough to make your pet sick. However, many ticks carry diseases such as Lyme, Ehrlichia, and more. Fortunately for us, we offer several preventative options for treating and controlling fleas and ticks. These medications need to be given every month for the best results. We also recommend giving them all year round because fleas and ticks can cause problems no matter the time of the year it is.
