Meet Our Staff!
Kim Van Driel – Veterinarian
Dr. Kim is originally from Ida Grove, Iowa, where she grew up on a small family farm with a feedlot and developed her love for animals. She attended South Dakota State University for her undergraduate studies and earned her DVM degree from Iowa State University in 2011. In 2012, she moved to the New Hampton area and later founded New Hampton Veterinary Clinic in 2017.
Kim loves spending her free time with her two children, Lane and Bristol. You’ll often see them tagging along at the clinic or on farm calls. The family lives on an acreage south of New Hampton with dogs, cats, horses, and cows. Kim enjoys working with all species, spending about half her time in the clinic caring for cats and dogs and the other half on farm calls treating cattle and horses.

Amy Kuehn
Amy grew up in Fredericksburg and graduated from high school there. She now lives on an acreage in New Hampton with her husband, Jason, and their two children, Jaxon and Ava. Jaxon plays football and participates in track and field, while Ava plays volleyball and enjoys band and chorus. Jason is the manager at Builder’s FirstSource in Waterloo. In her spare time, Amy enjoys crafting. The family has a dog named Sadie and several cats, and they love spending time outside on the deck.

Taylor Lantow
Taylor graduated from Tripoli High School in 2021. She is originally from Frederika and is the oldest of three sisters. In May 2025, she completed NICC’s Veterinary Technician program. Taylor now lives in Fredericksburg with her fiancé, Thunder, and their three cats. Her favorite part of working at the vet clinic is getting to meet all the clients and their furry friends!

Jane Kolthof
Jane is from New Hampton and graduated from New Hampton High School. She grew up on a cow/calf operation south of town and developed a love for animals at an early age. During her 4-H and FFA years, she showed cattle and swine, which sparked her interest in large animals. Jane enjoys going out on farm calls with Dr. Kim and loves the variety of cases they get to treat. You can also find her helping on the family farm, especially during calving season, her favorite time of year. In her free time, Jane loves spending time with her son, Emerson. They enjoy swimming in the summer and attend the Iowa State Fair every year.

Alexa Mashek
Alexa is currently attending New Hampton High School and is interested in pursuing a future career in the veterinary field. She spends her spare time outside of school working at the clinic, where she assists with surgeries, appointments, and everyday tasks. Alexa is involved in FFA and iJAG and also serves as a boys’ wrestling manager. At home, she has a German Shorthaired Pointer named Goose.
